ABOUT THE MYPLASH PREPAID MASTERCARD

Unlike a gift card, the MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard works everywhere debit MasterCard is accepted worldwide and is easily reloadable online or at over 50,000 retail locations via Green Dot MoneyPak or the MasterCard rePower Network. It is also personalized with your name on the front just like an ordinary bank card.

No. You can close your account at any time by simply spending or withdrawing your balance, transferring your balance directly to your bank account, or requesting a refund check by mail.

Your MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard will not allow an overdraft to occur, so there is no risk of an overdraft and no overdraft fee. However, most retailers will allow you to split your payment method at checkout if you would like to apply a partial payment from your card and then pay the difference using another form of payment.

The minimum load to fund a new card is $10.00, but there is no minimum balance required once your account is established. The maximum balance allowed is $2500.

Each MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard is personalized with the individual cardholder’s name. The name of the primary account holder, if different, does not appear on the card.

Yes. Parents may create separate accounts, each with their own personalized card and unique account number, for multiple family members and manage each account separately.

ABOUT GETTING A MYPLASH PREPAID MASTERCARD

The MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard is available for adults and for teens with parental consent.

There is no credit check to get a MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard. However, we are required to verify your identity in order to comply with Homeland Security regulations. For teens parental consent is required.

No. A card account can only be opened using a physical street address.

If you want to get a MYPLASH card for yourself AND your teen, it is important to sign up for the teen card FIRST. This process establishes your account as a part of our Companion Account system. Once the teen card account is established, you can then repeat the card order process from the beginning and, once your card order is submitted, our system will automatically link your new adult card to the original account you set up. However, if you inadvertently establish your account first, you will need to call Customer Service at 1-855-MYPLASH to have a customer service agent manually link your two accounts.

You should receive your card by mail within 7-10 days from the date of your order.

ABOUT USING YOUR MYPLASH PREPAID MASTERCARD

Please call Cardholder Services immediately at 1-855-MYPLASH (1-855-697-5274). If you believe there is a strong chance that you will locate your card, we can simply suspend your account to prevent charges until it is back in your possession. Otherwise, we will cancel your lost card and issue you a new one.

Click on the Login/Activate button, select either Companion Account or Individual Account (depending on the kind of account you have established), click on Need a Login?, and follow the onscreen prompts. Or call 1-855-MYPLASH for customer service assistance.

To retrieve your User Name or Password, click on the Login/Activate button, click on Forgot Your Login?, and follow the onscreen prompts. To change your password, log in to your account, select Change Password from the Account Activities pull-down menu, and follow the onscreen prompts. To change your PIN Number, log in to your account, select Change PIN from the Account Activities pull-down menu, and follow the onscreen prompts. (Note: Only the actual cardholder can change their PIN.)

Log in to your account and choose the particular card for which you want to activate free email and/or text alerts. Then select Enroll In Text Message Alerts or Enroll In Email Alerts from the Account Activities pull-down menu, and follow the onscreen prompts.

You can check your balance at any time by logging into your account online or by accessing our automated phone service at 1-855-MYPLASH (1-855-697-5274). Or, if you sign up for email/text alerts, you can simply save your last alert between purchases. It will reflect your most recent balance.

Your MYPLASH card can be easily reloaded online using a credit/debit card, ACH (echeck), direct deposit, or at over 50,000 retail locations via Green Dot MoneyPak (service fee applies) or the MasterCard rePower Network. A recurring allowance can also be established by a parent/guardian for automatic reloads. To reload your card, login to your online MyAccount and use the drop down menu to the right of the card you want to reload. Choose “Load Money to Card” to load money with an already established funding source, or choose “Manage Payment Methods” to set up a new funding source to load money.

Log in to your account and choose the particular card for which you want to establish a recurring allowance. Then select Allowance Schedules from the Account Activities pull-down menu, and follow the onscreen prompts.

Login to your account and select Direct Deposit Form from the Account Activities pull-down menu, and follow the onscreen prompts.

You can use your card for purchases at retail and get cash back, withdraw money at an ATM, or transfer money using a card-to-card or card-to-bank transfer.

The easiest way to close your account is to use or withdraw the remaining funds. Of course, you can also request a printed check refund to be mailed by calling 1-855-MYPLASH (1-855-697-5274). A special service fee will apply.

Loads via credit card, debit card, MoneyPak, or MasterCard rePower should post immediately. Direct deposits should show up as scheduled once the set-up is complete. Initial bank transfers can take up to 3 business days for the micro-deposit verification process, and then an additional 5-7 business days before the funds are posted – as required by the issuing bank. Subsequent bank transfers from an established account should appear within 2-3 days.

The only recurring fee for your MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard is the monthly fee of either $3.95 (for monthly loads totaling under $500.00) or $1.95 (for monthly loads totaling $500.00 or more). There are some special service fees (i.e. Bill Pay) and avoidable usage fees that apply based on certain types of transactions (i.e. ATM Withdrawals), but most of these fees can be easily avoided using the tips on our Simple Fees page.
